CES 2015
The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, was bigger and better than ever this year! With more than 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space and 3,600 exhibitors, CES 2015 was the largest show in history. This was evident even as we walked the show; we observed a noticeable increase in mid-size booths as opposed to the abundance of smaller, inline booths in past years. We also noticed an overall increase in the presence of international companies, especially those from Asian countries. Many companies from outside the US-occupied spaces in AND outside of pavilion booths, showing us that they are a major component in the global tech industry, both as manufacturers and consumers. CES is clearly one of the most multicultural and international shows in the US.
With such a large, diverse collection of exhibitors, we were bound to see the latest, greatest technology, and with the latest advances in automotive electronics, personalized health care solutions, unmanned vehicles, connected devices, 3D printers, and just about anything you can think of on display, CES was truly an amazing show to see. What caught our eye was the surprising number of drone, action video cameras and home automation companies on the show floor: major trends that appear to be holding strong and growing. It was also very clear to us that the major companies that produce TVs were doing more to differentiate their products from their competitors: picture quality from Sony, viewing angle from LG, screen brightness from Samsung, and even a cheaper price from newer, international brands hungry for market share. As is the case every year, walking the show was a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the technology of the future and see what new things we can apply not only to our everyday lives, but to our business here at Exhibit People.
